Description: Persons engaging in commercial transactions not involving gainful employment; or, participating in scientific, educational, professional, religious, or business conventions.

Limitation: Cannot receive salary or remuneration other than an expense allowance or other reimbursement incidental to temporary stay. Limited provisions for Honoraria were recently created.

Special: Some countries have an agreement with the U.S. so that their citizens do not require a visa in their passport before arriving in the U.S. (visa waiver or WT visa). Check with your local U.S. consulate for information.
