Arcadia is in Los Angeles County and is located about 13 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles at  the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. Arcadia is home to the Santa Anita Park racetrack and the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Gardens. According to the 2000 census, Arcadia had a population of  approximately 53,054.
